A life built around racing.
For Aidan Hills, motorsport isn’t just a passion — it’s a family legacy.
His grandfather raced in the 1970s and ’80s, his father followed in his footsteps on short ovals and circuits, and by the age of two Aidan was already wearing a race suit, wandering around the paddock with his dad’s helmet on.
He started karting at seven, racing competitively by nine, and quickly proved his talent — winning a British Open Championship and multiple club titles before his teens. From there, he moved into Rallycross at just 15, learning car control, resilience, and the discipline that would later define his success on the circuit.
After years balancing racing with school, work, and family life, Aidan and his dad decided to take things to the next level. They were already working with Mazda MX-5s day-to-day, and when they saw the MX-5 SuperCup in action, they knew it was their next move. Together, they built their first race car in three weeks — and Hills Motorsport was born.
Racing instincts and future ambitions
Ask Aidan what defines his driving, and he’ll tell you it’s instinct.
Years of experience have taught him when to push, when to defend, and when to trust the car completely. That balance of aggression and control is what makes him a winner — and what keeps him hungry for the next challenge.
While Aidan’s heart will always be with the MX-5, his sights are firmly set on the next step: racing in the Porsche Cayman series and ultimately the British Touring Car Championship.
“I’ve been racing for 18 years, and I’ve learned that success isn’t luck — it’s confidence, hard work, and experience. I love this sport, I love the people in it, and I’m just getting started.”

From family garage to championship team
Aidan made his MX-5 debut in 2017, earning top-ten finishes in his first season. By 2018, he was already on the podium, finishing third in the championship two years running.
When the time came to choose between breaking cars for parts and building them to win races, Aidan chose the latter — turning Hills Motorsport into a full-time operation with his father Daren.
Since then, Aidan’s career has gone from strength to strength:
🏆 2023: Mazda MX-5 SuperCup Champion
🏆 2024: Back-to-back Champion
🏁 2025: Leading the Miata Trophy Championship (and aiming for a third title)
He’s now widely recognised as one of the top Mazda racers in the UK — known for his clean, instinctive, and assertive driving style, often compared to touring car star Ash Sutton.
